    Abstract

The paper presents an idea and methodology for implementing a low cost video game called break the brick consisting of a brick wall, paddle and ball using a smart algorithmic approach with less time and space complexity. The game is implemented on a self-fabricated 8*8 LED matrix as display unit and controlled using a hand held remote. 8051 architecture based microcontroller is used effectively to create persistence of vision. The game follows laws of reflection making it more realistic.
